The Project
The new facility is a steel portal frame measuring 45m x 17m comprising two floors. The ground floor houses the factory, workshops, and showroom while the first floor contains the offices and stores. Externally there is a tarmac parking and delivery area.
The building is founded on mass concrete pad foundations and the ground floor is a ground bearing concrete slab. The surface water drainage soaks away in five soakaways under the tarmac area, while the foul drainage enters the existing foul drainage run at a manhole in the south east corner of site.
The building is fed with three high voltage cables and a 25mm water pipe into the plant room as well as BT fibre and copper cables. Solar panels are fitted to the roof generating 39,300kWh per annum.
The building is heated with underfloor heating in the office and showroom areas, the underfloor heating and hot water for the building is heated through an air source heat pump situated outside the plant room. The factory area of the building is heated by electrical panel heaters and ceiling mounter IR heaters.
A bespoke dust extraction duct system has been installed to the factory to ensure the factory complies with DSEAR regulations. All dust is gathered in a dust collector outside the building in the north east corner.
