Storagebase
May 2021 - March 2022 | Construction of a self storage building
Client
Storagebase
Location
Amesbury, Wiltshire
Duration
10 Months
The Project
Storagebase Self-Storage required a purpose built facility to expand their business in Amesbury and provide the maximum amount of storage space possible within their budget.
The site is located on Solstice Park, Amesbury which is a large business park just off the A303. Hibberd Development were able to provide the client with a plot of land suitable for their needs by completing a cut and fill exercise to allow the structure to be situated on the plot whilst complying with planning conditions to keep the building as low as other buildings on the business park.
The structure is a 7 storey steel frame housing 14,000m2 of storage space with internal columns at 5m centres to maximise the internal space whilst having the loading capabilities on each floor to meet the clients requirements. The ground floor has offices, kitchen and bathroom facilities as well as a meeting room.
There is a double central lift providing access to each floor along with fire escape stairwells in each corner of the building.
A dock leveller was installed on the side of the building allowing customers HGV off-loading capabilities.
The upper levels are constructed of Metsec Cold Rolled Joists and 38mm particle board with grid ceilings and tubular lighting to meet the client’s requirements.
