The Project
Nationwide Rail were appointed by Sheffield University to construct a new section of road for a future development.
The existing main carriageway into the USID site required extensive remedial works undertaking to the footpath and main carriageway.
We were engaged to work collaboratively with the design team and Sheffield University to determine final scope of works and remedial actions to be undertaken.
The footpaths required to be lifted and re-laid due to extensive irregularities in the surface, thought to be caused by poor compaction and under specification of the formation.
We worked with Sheffield University to determine the strategy to achieve a final solution that is defect free, within budget and time restrictions.
